JME & NSDL MatDL Pathway Collaboration
Selected full text articles from the Journal of Materials Education (JME) are being promoted and made freely available on the NSF supported National Science Digital Library (NSDL), Materials Digital Library Pathway (MatDL) to encourage broad dissemination and readership. These papers are part of a special JME issue which includes manuscripts from the Fall 2007 MRS Forum on Materials Science Education.
JME, a refereed journal, began publication in 1979 as the Journal of Educational Modules for Materials Science and Engineering. It is now published in print bi-monthly and is the vehicle for distribution of instructional information about the expanding world of material science. The institutions of the current Editors include: IBM Almaden Research Center, University of North Texas, Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, and University of Wisconsin - Madison.
MatDL aims to serves undergraduate and graduate students, educators, & researchers in the materials community by supporting emerging forms of dissemination and exchange connecting materials education and research. MatDL is a collaborative effort currently involving Kent State University, National Institute of Standards and Technology, MIT, University of Michigan, Purdue University and Iowa State University.
We invite you to register on the site so that you can add comments to the articles posted through this collaboration. Our hope is that these comments will help initiate discussions among the Materials education community about best practices and innovations in the classroom. We welcome comments to articles which reflect: extensions of the subject matter presented; prior experiences; or new adaptations.
