softmatter:Soft Matter Wiki Info
From NSDL Materials Digital Library Wiki
The initial development of the Soft Matter Wiki, starting August 2006, was conducted by the Glotzer Group at the University of Michigan as part of the NSDL MATDL Materials Digital Library Pathway. Maintenance of the Wiki cyberstructure and its integration with the materials digital library was conducted by the Materials Informatics Lab at Kent State University. Initial content and layout of the site was developed at U-M in partial support of a graduate course on Computational Nanoscience of Soft Matter. Prior to October 2006, contributions to the SM Wiki were limited to Glotzer group members and students in the course. In late October 2006 a larger community of contributors drawn from the soft matter simulation community will be invited to participate in the development of the SM wiki. It is our intent that, eventually, the broad, open community of soft matter scientists will participate in the long term development of this site to support, and better integrate, research, education and outreach in materials.
We are in the process of developing a verification system that will allow experts within the community to "validate" pages created by others so that readers can assess for themselves the degree of "trust" they might have in the content of any given page.
Questions about the project should be addressed to sglotzer [at] umich.edu.
