Abstract/Summary As described in a recent article (Carter and Forbes Jones, JOM, v. 55(4), pp. 52-57, 2005), metal droplets are atomized by pushing liquid metal through a nozzle. The liquid metal is supplied by a static electroslag remelting rig and the problem is to calculate flow rates as a function of system design.
